Some of the most original things in life are created by duos; think the works of the Coen brothers, Inez and Vinoodh, Humberto and Carol, Courtney and Kurt. ORGNL.TV have teamed up with our fashionable friends over at Russh Magazine to pull together a list of their favourite collaborations recently.
“The team at Opening Ceremony brought the best DKNY pieces from your mum’s wardrobe back to life at the beginning of this year for Spring 2013.”
Here are our top ten collaborations of late.
Hurricane Sandy had nothing on Alber Elbaz. Unable to cross the North Atlantic Ocean late last year to attend his Spring 2013 campaign shoot, the charming Lanvin designer jumped on Skype to critique Meisel and co: “The perspective is just sick! Love, love, love. Divine!"
It’s no secret that we love Nell. Our favourite work of hers though was the collab with Romance Was Born - her phantom designs made their SS 2012 collection all the more memorable.
This duo transformed the idea of the It-bag at this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. “Lisa (Dr Cooper) really bought these pieces to life,” tells Maticevski in RUSSH issue 53. “I initially was thinking a rectangle or square but Lisa was thinking a kind of circle. I thought it best to run with her idea; after all, she knows what she is doing and she’s pretty brilliant too.”
1991 to 1994 was all about Nirvana, 'Reality Bites' and DKNY. The team at Opening Ceremony brought the best DKNY pieces from your mum’s wardrobe back to life at the beginning of this year for Spring 2013.
Each season Christopher Kane and J Brand unite. Last season it was fluro and this season it’s camo. However we can’t shake the embellished denim from his Spring/Summer 2012 runway.
